Aki Ro (Yahui LYU) is an artist based in Tokyo, Japan. He received training in architectural arts and structural design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China and the Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan. In 2025, he earned his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Information Studies from the University of Tokyo, where he developed a method of three-dimensional forming using tensile forces, and pursued extensive research and applications in digital design, fabrication, and interdisciplinary creation. His work centers on the making of “form,” encompassing architectural design, art installations, product design, and painting.
Aki Ro was raised in a Christian family in China, and he believes that the world is a delicately designed whole created by the Creator—one whose beauty can be revealed through the practice of form-making in art.
Aki Ro(呂亞輝)是一位旅居日本東京的藝術家。他先後在中國中央美術學院與日本東京藝術大學接受建築藝術與結構設計的訓練,並於2025年在東京大學取得學際情報學博士學位,研究以張拉力進行立體造型的方法,並在數位設計與製造、跨領域設計方面展開深入的探索與實踐。他的創作以「形狀」的生成為主軸,涵蓋建築設計、藝術裝置、產品設計與繪畫等領域。
Aki Ro 出身於中國的基督信仰家庭,他相信世界是由造物主所精心設計的整體,而造型藝術正是揭示其中「美」的重要途徑。
